A Landmark Pro Bono Victory for Transparency & Free Speech
One of the defining highlights of 2025 was our victory in the Pro Bono Running Mann defamation case, where we successfully defended blogger Stuart Mann against claims brought by Two Oceans Marathon and its chairperson.
The court dismissed the application entirely, ruling that the comments were not defamatory, ultimately reinforcing the principles of transparency, fairness, and freedom of expression.
In the spirit of service, we donated the full R86,000 in legal fees that were awarded to us, directing it toward the Comrades Amabeadibeadi Charity Initiative – a fitting reminder that justice and community can move forward together.
The Comrades x Conveyancing Campaign: Giving Through Every Transfer
This year, our conveyancing practice did more than move properties. It moved communities. Through our Conveyancing Campaign, we’ve raised over R30,000 for the Comrades Amabeadibeadi Charity Initiative in 2025 alone.
The campaign runs until 31 December, with an additional R5,000 top-up awaiting the estate agency with the highest donation total. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped turn ordinary transactions into extraordinary impact.
