Tips for Orders and advance sales:

When accepting deposits for Orders, make sure the customer accepts written Terms and Conditions dealing with the situation where :

- the deposit is paid,
- the item ordered is either made or procured, and
- the customer never collects the item or cancels the sale, or you just can't get hold of them.

Written Terms and Conditions take the guesswork out of what to do next. Important inclusions are:

1. A time limit;

2. The ability to cancel the sale if they don't collect and pay the balance;

3. The ability to resell the item;

4. Recovery of any shortfall from the deposit paid;

5. Contact details to give notice to the customer.

Ask Mc Naught and Co to help you draw up suitable Terms and Conditions for all of your sales or orders and take the guesswork out of doing business.
